Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 25, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how dannypdiaz.com (“this site,” “we,” or “us”), the personal and professional site of Danny Diaz, collects, uses, and protects information when you visit. This site is a portfolio and contact site for freelance software engineering services — it does not sell products or process payments.

Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways:

  • Information you provide directly. When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, company (optional), and message so we can respond to your inquiry.
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site may use cookies and similar technologies (such as Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Meta Pixel) to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed and how visitors arrived. These technologies only run after you consent to them via the cookie banner, with the exception of strictly necessary cookies required for the site and the cookie banner itself to function.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

When you first visit this site, you’ll see a cookie consent banner letting you accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or manage your preferences by category:

  • Necessary. Required for the site to function, including remembering your cookie preference. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics. Used to understand site traffic and usage patterns (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager). Only loaded if you accept this category.
  • Marketing. Used to measure the effectiveness of advertising (e.g., Meta Pixel). Only loaded if you accept this category.

You can change your preferences at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer.

How We Use Information

  • To respond to messages sent through the contact form.
  • To understand how visitors use the site and improve its content and performance, where you have consented to analytics cookies.
  • To measure the effectiveness of any marketing activity, where you have consented to marketing cookies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Contact form submissions are processed through Resend, our transactional email provider, solely to deliver your message to us. If you consent to analytics or marketing cookies, limited usage data is shared with Google and/or Meta as described above, subject to their own privacy policies.

Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and for reasonable record-keeping. Your cookie consent preference is stored in your browser and expires after a limited period, after which you’ll be asked to confirm your preferences again.

Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and to request deletion. This site does not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, please reach out through the contact form and describe your request.

Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
